if i want a separate css for printing can i add this in head.tpl and make sure i have print.css in the css folder of themes folder
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{$SITEURL}/css/print.css" media="print" />

<meta name="mssmarttagspreventparsing" content="true" /> is there any specific purpose for this or can it be simply ignored

how to add values for the form elements in a contact form
a. select tags <option></option> drop down list.

b. checkboxes with a label so that the checkboxes and labels appear beside each other

c. radio buttons with a label so that the radio buttons and labels appear beside each other

i have added select/checkbox/radio to $fields[$f]['type'] = ''; in the jojo_contact_fields.php how to add the values for select/checkbox/radio

please advice.

1. If you want a print stylesheet, just create a css/print.css file in your theme and run setup. This should add the HTML link for you automatically. Likewise for handheld.css.

2. I don't know what the modern take is on this - it was useful in the distant past but I think Microsoft have pulled their heads in on this. Feel free to remove if you like, personally I'm leaving it in place until some authority suggests otherwise.

3. The comments in the fields file should show some examples of this. I think it's the 'options' element you want to look at.
